In no way would I recomend anybody stay at the Savoy Blackpool, the name is a contradiction in terms, rooms Dirty Mould growth on windows and curtains, windows that would not open, what happens in case of fire? No soap, and the towels! Grey is obviously the in colour! Food terrible evening sunday dinner all frozen products and the yorkshire puddings not even aunt bessies but smart price, would make good soles for shoes. Breakfast passable, that was when you managed to find a clean dish or plate, the diswasher obviously needs looking at as yesterdays meal was still on the plate. Room brouchure states breakfast from 8-10am but they stopped serving at 9.30 am so late arrivals went without breakfast. DO NOT STAY AT THE SAVOY BLACKPOOLL

    The breakfast was lovely.

On going up to our room we found it was already occupied by another couple and we had been given a key card which would not have opened the yale lock ! Our second offering had just been vacated by the last guests and had not been cleaned. Our third trip down the stairs resulted in our own clean room with a door card that worked, well at least for the first day. Having said that we did enjoy our stay and did not have any other problems.

The view from the bedroom window out to sea and along the prom was precisely why I went. The bathroom was spacious and very bright.

I was unfortunate to have a room which seemed to be next to the heating pump or fan. There was an irritatingly loud and steady "hum" day and night. Breakfast was all self service and by the time I had queued for the hot food, the rest of what I had collected (coissant, butter etc. and coffee) and my room key had been cleared from my table. Back to the cold queue.

Nothing. I have just completed a tour of Scotland and England and found this hotel the worst of all. I booked on line and the hotel room description did not match what was allocated. 1st room ws a smoking room. 2nd a noisey room next to an extractor. 3rd room someone wass in it and 4th room was acceptable, but only because there was nothing left. I know this was for only 1 night and I booked two rooms at a cost of £160. I expect the same class of room as described on the web site not the cheap a;lternative.

Reception staff where very unhelpfull and ignorant. No apology for the hassle I encouintered.

The staff were extremely helpful, the food was good and plentiful, it was handily situated for bus and tram stops so there was no necessity to use the car for local trips.

I would just draw the hotels attention to the fact that, for an older couple with hip problems the bed was a bit uncomfortable!

This hotel was the worse iv ever stayed in.i had to move rooms three times and even then the room was not without faults.the first room had a window that was sealed up or a window to look through or open.the second room the wallpaper and paper on the ceiling was hanging down due to a leak in the ceiling.the carpet was wet and when I reported this all the said was they can patch up the paper and put a towel down for me.i demanded to move rooms again and the third room was better but the bedding had stains and holes in the bedding.my friend room his door was sticking had to use alot of force to open the door.his wallpaper was damp and in all corners on the window was damp and dirt on the windows was bad.there was cobwebs hanging from each corner of the wall.in his bathroom there was a puddle all the time and chewing gum stuck to the window frame.in the three nights there we had to ask for clean towels which only happened on the third day as they had ran out and changed the bedding once which had blood stains on the pillow case.the fire alarm went off three times and not once did anyone go to leave the building nor did staff go to evacuate the guests.it says on there web site that wi-fi is available but as I was on the 4th floor it does not go that far and only goes to the 2nd floor and when told of this all they said was its there to use downstairs whats the problem.the problem was I was at the top floor and could not get what they advertised so thats a con.there lift is small only lets 3 people at a time in and had to wait over 10 minutes to get the lift to my room and even the lift was dirty.with afew hundred guest and only one lift for three people is a joke.staff was rude didnt want to help and would never stay there again.i have gone to report this hotel I took over 50 pictures to prove everything iv said

The pipes in the room where red hot, The windows were painted shut so the heat in the room was terrible. We complained to reception and they were helpful and gave us a fan but that didnt help. Very uncomfortable night sleep. Staff where very friendly though....

We only had a short stay but the savoy was very helpful with the problems we had with our stay.

We had problems with parking and problems with key cards.

The room they offered was the worst I have ever stayed in, we complained and only stayed one night of our two night stay. I asked for a flu refund but was refused and only offered one night at a reduced rate. the room was so basic and the window frame was rotten and the shower cubical was in a state of ill repair. the Manager was not any help at all and on my check out the following day was in the back room and never even came out to apologise for the state of the room which he agreed was the lowest grade they have. Also we had to walk with luggage to the middle of the hotel as the room seemed to be in a annex with a outlook through the window of the centre of the yard of the Hotel.

  • Older travelers

the staff were very friendly and welcoming, any request made to them was met with a smile and quickly dealt with. the meals were very nicely presented, occasionally not as hot as we would have liked them to be.

the room was very poorly set out and in need of some updating and modernising, we stayed in room 204, also it would have been nice to have some basic toileteries in the bathroom.
